This piece of pink-spray-painted road metal was presented to Finn Ferrier by Charlie Sofo, while he was here preparing for a show at ARTSPACE in October 2011. The basalt chip comes from the car-park on the corner of K’Rd & Gundry Street, Auckland

I collected this from just beside the face of the quarry. The quarry was over grown with long kikuyu grass & when I picked it up, the rock was encrusted in rich-red-volcanic-soil.

on Wellesley Street outside the Auckland Art Gallery small pieces of slate would fall off the roof and land in the wood-chip-garden beside the kerb
